Please note that the Quiz being hosted by the Welsh
Counties Car Club at The Greedown in St. Georges-Super-Ely, near Cardiff
is being held on MONDAY 14th January and NOT on
Tuesday 15th January as first thought. Please try to come along, the
two teams from BAC who entered the last quiz in December had a good time.
Teams of up to 4 people can take part. Please come along at 7:30pm
ready to start at 8pm.
The Events list for 2008 has now been published - note
that this year we have 3 events lined up at Margam Park.
The club were very sad to hear the news of the recent death of Craig Finch (an ex member of the club), in a road traffic accident before Christmas. Our thoughts are with his family.
Again the committee would be grateful for some volunteers
to help organise events, it always seems to be the same few people who
give their time to make sure you have a good time ! So please come
along and help and then eventually you will be able to organise your own
events. To help this we have produced some Autotest Guidelines - please
have a look at them and then come and help before the start of the next
event. (Autotest - 27th January at Llandow).
Jim Mason and David Glanville are driving 4000 miles to
Mali, West Africa in a 24-year-old Vauxhall Carlton.
Following our trip-of-a-lifetime to Mongolia in 2006, we decided it was
time for another. We are now just a few days away from the start of the
Timbuktu Run 2008. This is the latest incarnation of the Plymouth-Dakar
Challenge (www.plymouth-dakar.co.uk)
(which sounds a bit like Paris-Dakar...geddit?).
The event should entail around 4000 miles through between seven and nine
countries (depending on whether or not you count Gibraltar and Western
Sahara) over about three weeks. Our initial target is to reach Bamako in
Mali. If (and only if) we arrive safely we may decide to press on further
to Timbuktu.
We will post details of our adventures as they unfold on our website www.walestomongolia.co.uk.
Dean Jones has offered to run a Club Quiz Night - So come along to the Barley Mow on Tuesday 18th December at 8:30pm. Teams of 4 or less - entry is £1 per person. The Questions will be on General Knowledge and Motorsport - there will be around 40 to 50 questions. Come early for a seat !!!!!
Christmas Curry Night !!
Update: For those not wishing to travel to the Barley Mow first an alternative meeting place will be the Wyndham Arms (Wetherspoon's) in Bridgend town centre at 9pm.

Karting this Tuesday19th June please be there for 6:30pm we need a good turn out - the more the merrier !!
Sorry not been much news recently plus webmaster off air for about a month while moving house. Anyway a few items to draw your attention to:-
At this Sundays event at Ewenny Woods weather permitting there will be a BBQ very kindly provided by Chris Garner, so now an even bigger reason to attend at 1pm !
There were concerns raised about the behaviour of a number of members when leaving the last event at Llandow, they drove at very excessive speed on leaving, this is not acceptable and is dangerous on the public roads, please take more care in future. Also concerns were raised concerning safety in the Paddock during the event - everyone please be more aware of the environment they are in and remember there are people walking around as well as in cars ! ! ! ! Standards seem to be slipping so come on everyone "Lets be careful out there ".
The next Margam Park event will be Sunday 18th November instead of the event arranged for Llandow on Saturday 17th November, make a note in your diaries.
Don't Forget the AGM and Awards Night is on Friday 9th March at the Six Bells Inn in Penmark. The AGM will start at 7:30pm all members very welcome to attend. The cost for the evening is £20 a head, contact Terry Donovan for further details
The event at Margam Park went very well - thanks to Dylans very hard work and to Gareth Tilleke for providing a BBQ with all profits going to the club - why weren't you there ?????
Next Event is the first karting event of the year - please make every effort to attend on Tuesday 13th March at 6:30pm for a prompt stat at 7pm, by starting at this time we have been able to get a £10 discount per entrant.

The Event on Saturday 17th February has now been changed
into what can only be called a Fun Day, it will now take
place at Margam Park - ideal place to bring all the family !!

some events moved from a Sunday to a Saturday - have a
look here. If you have any comments
concerning the dates then please inform a committee member.
The Event on Sunday 21st January has
been cancelled as no-one came forward to organise it ! During 2006
it was the same 10 members who volunteered to organise events, more help
is required or more events will be cancelled.
Please return all trophies to Terry Donovan as soon as possible so there is time to get them engraved ready for the Awards Night (date to be announced shortly).
