• The Events Calendar for 2007 has now been posted, have a look here if you have any comments concerning the dates then please inform a committee member.
  
  

• Members Forum taking place at the Barley Mow between 9pm and 10pm on Tuesday 12th December, let the committee know what you want to happen in your club during 2007. This will be followed by a Curry at the Natraj Tandoori Restauarant at 16 Wyndam Street, Bridgend - All welcome !

• DAVID W WILLIAMS 1950-2006
   
  David Williams, secretary of Port Talbot Motor Club, died last week at his home in Llanelli.
  Williams was dedicated to the club and was a vital part of all that took place under the PTMC banner, playing a huge role in the lives of everyone there.
   Known and respected throughout the country, "DWW" as he was known also took on other major roles within the Welsh Association, ANCRO and the RACMSA, as chairman, timekeeper and MSA council member.
   Williams had undergone heart surgery in the past year but had made a good recovery. Bridgend Automobile Club extends its condolences to his family and friends.

   

• Event Results page has now been updated  - apologies for the long wait. Also updated is the Championship Standings page, apologies to Leighton who managed to disappear from the top of the Chairman's Cup - you are back up there now !!!
  
  




• BAC Membership Survey 2006/07: A survey form is being sent out to all members in the next week or so, please take time out to complete it and get it back to any committee member by Friday 1st December. A copy of the survey is also available here if you want to print it out.





• I am told that Octobers Committee Meeting will take place at the Barley Mow on Tuesday 17th October starting at 8pm, well better late then never !!

• Been delays in getting results for recent events, they will be posted once I get them !
  
  

• After 8500 miles and 27 Days Jim Mason and David Glanville arrived at the finish line of the Mongol Rally on Thursday 17th August 2006, you can view their full diary of event on their website  www.walestomongolia.co.uk click on the BLOG UPDATES Link.
  We all send them our congratulations on this excellent achievement.   Some pictures to follow soon.
  
  

• The next event is an Autotest at Llandow on Sunday 3 September, sign on at 12:30pm for a 1pm start ! !

                              Possible all day event starting at 11am - more details to follow. (Still waiting for an update on this !)

• Announcing the The South Wales Motorsport Show, taking place on Sunday 17th September 2006 see  Motorsport Show Details also if you would like to exhibit your car at the shown the please complete this Exhibitors Form.. The show would also welcome Trade Stands so if you would like to attend as a Trader then please complete this Registration Form. Please try to support his show thats is being put on in aid of The Michael 'Beef' Park Foundation.




• There is a special 2 Hour Karting event on Tuesday 27th June everyone welcome - starts at 6:30pm and the cost is £25.




• Next Event is an Autotest at Ewenny Woods on Sunday 11th June, sign on by 1:15 for a 1:30 start.  Results will be posted on the new Events Results page.

• Jim Mason and David Glanville of Bridgend Automobile Club are driving 8000 miles from South Wales to Mongolia to raise money for charity.
   
  The two charities they are supporting are Send a Cow, who help farmers in Africa by providing them with livestock, and the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation, who help orphaned children living on the streets of Mongolia and other countries.
   
  The rules of the rally state that the car must be old, with an engine size of less than 1 litre.  Jim and Dave are taking a Lancia Y10, which has 45 horse power, or the same as 60 Mongolian camels…
   
  The rally starts from Hyde Park in London on Saturday July 22^nd.  You can follow their progress at: www.walestomongolia.co.uk

• Congratulations to Euros Evans and Dylan Lewis who came 3rd in their class and 23rd overall in the Red Dragon Rally held on Saturday 20th May. A BIG thank you to their Service Crew, Colin and Fred Coleman, well done all ! Also at The Red Dragon were Rob Coleman and Geoff Bessant Marshalling at Margam.
  
  
  
• For many people who have anything less than a full understanding of the role and function of the Motor Sports Association (MSA), it can seem  quite a complex organisation, and in order to enable people to understand better what it does and how it is structured the MSA has recently published a small booklet. You can view a copy here
  
  
• We have recieved an invitation from the Amman & District Motor Club to attend their 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner at the Glyn Clydach Hotel Skewen on Friday 9th June - see the invitation here
  
  
• A number of BAC Members took part in the Matador Welsh International Rally on 29th and 30th April, congratulations to Les Skeet and Gary Morgan who were 8th overall, and to Chris Garner and Craig Finch who were 25th overall. Carl Fricker and Ian Meakin also took part but had to retire on the second day.
  The BAC Marshalling Team, Geoff, Gareth and Rob were also present through the event.
  
  
• Volunteers for a working party to help setup the Pencoed Classic Car show are need for Saturday 7th May , contact Terry Donovan for more information. The show itself takes place on Sunday 8th May, Admission charges: Adults £4, Senior Citizens £2 and Children £1.
  
  
• At the end of the Autotest that took place on Saturday 22nd April, the organisers found themselves having to clear up a large amount of litter from the paddock area before they could go home. It must be noted that the litter was not there at the start of the event, therefore we can only assume it was left by members of BAC. This is totally unacceptable, if you bring anything with you to eat or drink etc please take your rubbish home with you.
  
  You must remember we are using someone else's land and it is used for animal grazing, in addition we do not want to cause any aggravation to the Farmer who owns the land especially as we are in negotiations for future use.
  

• At the April Committee meeting the Regulations for Autotests were discussed, please see the Supplementary Regulations for Autotests 2006.
  

• 2006 Karting Dates
  A series of BAC Karting events has been arranged at Llandow. All events start at 6.30pm, cost is £25 each.
  Duration 75 mins unless stated. See Event Dates Page for more details.
  
  

• To comply with the latest MSA requirements, the Gymkhanas we hold are to be redesignated as 'Forward Only Autotests'. The costs to the club will unfortunately increase and it will be necessary to recover some of the extra expenditure by increasing the entry fee to £10 per entrant from January 2006.
